Academic integrity is fundamental to the Values of CWI. Upholding academic integrity means committing to six fundamental values: honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage (The Fundamental Values of Academic Integrity, 2019). These values help create a learning environment where all members of the college have the opportunity to learn.
As a student, demonstrating academic integrity means representing your learning and ideas honestly. It also means avoiding behaviors that undermine your growth and the trust of others. Examples of academic dishonesty include, but are not limited to: cheating, plagiarism, falsifying information, unauthorized collaboration, assisting others in dishonest academic work, assisting others to cheat, submitting work generated by artificial intelligence (AI) tools as your own, and violating course, program, or institutional academic policies.
To learn more, refer to the Student Code of Conduct. Any violation of academic integrity may result in serious consequences, including a failing grade on the assignment, failure in the course, or additional disciplinary action. Incidents are formally documented and reviewed through the Academic Conduct Process. Repeated violations carry more severe institutional penalties.
