BTEC 293 Biotechnology Internship

This course is designed for students who are completing the Biotechnology Lab Assistant Academic Certificate program. The Biotechnology Internship allows students to gain academic credit for work performed in research or industry laboratories. To earn the certificate, students must complete a cumulative total of three credits, or 135 hours, of laboratory bench experience in an industry or research setting working with biotechnology related practices. Applicable practices include, but are not limited to, DNA, protein, aseptic technique, gowning, documentation, Good Manufacturing Practice standards, and FDA regulations. May be repeated for a maximum of five credits. Students must meet with the CWI Work Based Learning Center (WBLC) before they can register for this course. Students are encouraged to initiate this process at least 10 days prior to the semester registration deadline. The WBLC will coordinate with students, advisors, and the department to finalize enrollment. (Pass/No Pass) PREREQ: PERM/INST. (0 lecture hours, 3 lab hours, 1 credits)
