BTEC 293 Biotechnology Internship
(1-5 Credits, Varies)

This course is designed for students who are completing the Biotechnology Lab Assistant Academic Certificate program. The Biotechnology Internship allows students to gain academic credit for work performed in research or industry laboratories. To earn the certificate, students must complete a cumulative total of three credits, or 135 hours, of laboratory bench experience in an industry or research setting working with biotechnology related practices. Applicable practices include, but are not limited to, DNA, protein, aseptic technique, gowning, documentation, Good Manufacturing Practice standards, and FDA regulations. May be repeated for a maximum of five credits. (Pass/No Pass) PREREQ: PERM/INST. (0 lecture hours, 3 lab hours, 1 credits)
