The Studio Art program provides students with a strong foundation in the techniques and materials of visual art while expanding their understanding of visual culture and its history. Our courses prepare students for transfer to other colleges, universities, and art institutes. Students will have opportunities to grow as artists and prepare to make contributions to the arts as professionals. Studio Art majors often seek employment in art education, art therapy, museum studies, photography, and design fields, in addition to working as studio artists and using their knowledge and skills for personal enrichment.
Completion of the program is designed to result in an Associate of Arts degree and meets the general-education requirements at all Idaho public universities. Course selection should be coordinated to meet requirements for your intended transfer institution, if known.
