This diverse discipline of communication focuses on how people use messages to generate meanings within and across various contexts, cultures, channels, and media. The program curriculum promotes the effective and ethical practice of human communication which includes critical thinking, innovation, civic engagement, and creative endeavors that produce and reproduce our social world. Students are provided a number of opportunities to apply their learning and gain work experience through internships, service-learning projects, work-study, school and community service, student clubs, presentations, symposiums, and more.
