From Our President

CWI President Gordon Jones

On behalf of the College of Western Idaho (CWI), I would like to welcome and congratulate you on continuing the educational journey of knowledge and skills development. I always enjoy spending time on campus to meet and share my gratitude and appreciation to each of you for making this such a special place. At CWI, you will find a genuine concern for your learning success and dedication to helping you prosper.

From our locally elected Board of Trustees to our faculty, staff, and fellow classmates—you will find a close-knit group of people excited about learning.

The decision to pursue education, and to do so at CWI, will bode well for your future and is one that will result in opportunities that may have otherwise been unattainable. Along with being the state’s largest community college, we are celebrating countless graduates who are competing on a national level and successfully entering the workplace with superior skills. We have established the College as a community resource partnering with local employers to offer career opportunities, and provide a seamless transition with fellow Idaho colleges and universities for those who decide to continue their education beyond CWI.

This 2024–2025 catalog provides information on more than 120 degree and certificate programs and hundreds of short-term skills development courses, offering students numerous opportunities to explore. CWI, accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), is a public college supported by our community; we are here to ensure anyone, regardless of age or current education level, can receive a quality education.

As a new student and future alum of CWI, I invite you to connect with our faculty, staff, and fellow students. CWI is known throughout the Treasure Valley for its tremendous impact on students and the communities we serve. CWI transforms lives – offering our community an affordable, high-quality education designed to deliver on the promise of economic and social mobility for all.

I am honored to be part of the CWI community and excited to step into the future with all of you.

Sincerely,

Gordon Jones
President, College of Western Idaho
