GEOG 100 Physical Geography
(3 Credits, Fall/Spring/Summer)

This course is a study of Earth's physical environment, including weather, climate, soils, vegetation, landforms, and oceans. The interrelationships and interdependencies of each facet of the environment are studied, as well as the physical processes that act on the environment to produce the landscape. COREQ: GEOG 100L. GEOG 100L Physical Geography Lab
(1 Credit, Fall/Spring/Summer)

This is the required laboratory component to accompany GEOG 100. This lab component provides opportunities to use maps, graphs, weather instruments, and other materials used by geographers to study the Earth, as well as an opportunity to practice the application of theoretical information learned during the lectures. GEOG 102 Cultural Geography
(3 Credits, Fall/Spring)

This course examines the geography of human culture. Topics may include human interaction with the environment, population, mobility, nutrition and disease, race and gender, language, religion, agricultural practices, urbanization, human interaction with the environment, industrial development, and political structures. (This CWI course meets Idaho State Board of Education GEM competency requirements for GEM 6 - Social and Behavioral Ways of Knowing OR the CWI Global Perspectives requirement. [It will not fulfill both requirements.]). (3 lecture hours, 0 lab hours, 3 credits)

GEOG 200 World Regional Geography
(3 Credits, Fall/Spring)

Survey of major world regions bound together by environment, economics, culture, and politics. Includes consideration of world resource patterns and problems. (This CWI course meets Idaho State Board of Education GEM competency requirements for GEM 6 - Social and Behavioral Ways of Knowing OR the CWI Global Perspectives requirement. [It will not fulfill both requirements.]). (3 lecture hours, 0 lab hours, 3 credits)

GEOG 270 Global Climate Change
(3 Credits, Fall/Spring)

This course introduces students to the science behind global climate change. Students will learn to integrate a variety of scientific disciplines that contribute to Earth System science. Utilizing the scientific method, students will evaluate the global climate as it has changed and predict future patterns. In addition, the course will evaluate climate impacts, climate adaptation, and climate mitigation. Students will be challenged to critically evaluate information and make informed decisions on climate change and its ramifications. This course is cross-listed with GEOS 270. (This CWI course meets Idaho State Board of Education GEM competency requirements for GEM 4 - Scientific Ways of Knowing.). (3 lecture hours, 0 lab hours, 3 credits)

GEOG 293 Geography Internship
(1-3 Credits, Varies)

Internships allow students to apply learning to real-life career possibilities. Credits are earned through supervised fieldwork specifically related to a student's area of study. An Internship Registration Form must be completed and submitted before students are able to register for an internship course. PREREQ: PERM/INST and submission of a completed Internship Registration Form. (0 lecture hours, 3 lab hours, 1 credits)
