Math Solutions Center
The Math Solutions Center (MSC) offers math placement tests and instructional support options for students who need to fulfill a math prerequisite for a subsequent course. Courses offered through the MSC include:
Criteria for placement in these and all other CWI general education math courses can be found on the Placement Testing catalog page. Students should meet with a Math Coach and their advisor to determine the math pathway that best meets their degree plans.
Students enrolled in MATH 097, MATH 098, and MATH 099 are not required to purchase a textbook and will be provided the information needed to log into the course software on the first day of class each semester. To support the direct classroom instruction provided in each of these courses, students have access to a multitude of instructional resources through the web-based course software. These resources include interactive preparation material at the beginning of each topic, video lectures on each concept, PowerPoint presentations on every section of the text, and animated explanations for many examples in the text. In addition to their selected course and section times, students enrolled in both on-campus and online sections of MATH 097, MATH 098, and MATH 099 have access to math faculty at both the Nampa and Ada Campus MSC locations during specified drop-in times. Students enrolled in online sections of MATH 097, MATH 098, and MATH 099 can also receive virtual support from math faculty during specified times through Blackboard Collaborate.
