Students majoring in Anthropology are required to complete three (3) courses from the following 200-level ANTH elective options:
- ANTH 220 Indigenous Peoples of North America
- ANTH 240 Basque Heritage and Contemporary People
- ANTH 250 Indigenous Mythology and Rituals
- ANTH 260 Mexican Heritage and Contemporary Peoples
ANTH 240, ANTH 250, and ANTH 260 are offered during the fall semester; ANTH 220 is offered during the spring semester. Please select three of these four courses (9 credits total) and complete them during the semester in which they are offered.

It is strongly recommended that students who are planning to transfer to Boise State University's (BSU) Bachelor of Science in Anthropology program use their available elective credits to complete one of the following options:
- Option 1: Language sequence
- Complete two semesters of a modern language (i.e. French, Japanese, Sign Language, or Spanish). One of the modern language courses would fulfill one of the GEM 5 requirements.
- Option 2: GIS Academic Certificate
- Students who complete the courses required for the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Academic Certificate at CWI will earn the certification and meet the Skill Requirement for BSU's program. In addition to GIS 126 Fundamentals of GIS (which is required for completion of the Anthropology AA) students would need to complete the following courses:

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Understand the field of anthropology through analysis and reflection on the discipline’s sub-fields, history, methods, and terminology.
- Demonstrate conceptual and factual knowledge of the sub-fields, historical origins, and conceptual frameworks used in anthropology.
- Identify and analyze data in a variety of contexts associated with the field of anthropology.
- Synthesize and present data and findings in a variety of written and oral formats.
- Demonstrate awareness of the diversity of human behaviors from prehistory to the present.
- Identify and analyze the diversity of the human response to environmental and economic changes.
- Synthesize and present knowledge of the diversity of human behavior both spatially and contextually.
