Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Create digital imagery that demonstrates knowledge and skills in the use of basic photographic tools, techniques, technologies, and processes sufficient to work from concept to finished product including but not limited to camera controls, lighting, and image correction and enhancement.
  • Create digital imagery that demonstrates functional competence with the principles of design, including the ability to work with visual elements and color theory.
  • Create digital imagery that demonstrates perceptual acuity and conceptual understanding by synthesizing knowledge, skills, and interpretations of visual culture to independently solve creative problems.
  • Produce effective and meaningful cross-platform delivery of digital imagery for the web as well as a variety of print media for commercial, retail, and fine art applications.
  • Effectively showcase and discuss their work as well as the work of others, through participation in critiques and discussions, resulting in the development of a comprehensive portfolio and/or exhibition.
  • Understand the nature of professional work in digital photography including the practical, legal, and financial fundamentals of operating a small business.
